Hi Mike Marsh, thanks for the feedback. We'll add a feature that allows the instructor to lock a post so that the student can't delete or edit the post.

Duong Nguyen: I really need to be able to make this the default. I've had multiple cases of posts disappearing before I see the email notification, and sometimes those are useful for other students. It's usually because the student figured out the answer, but others might not be able to as easily.

Mike Marsh: We can make this a default preference. However, it would require a "grace period" before the post can be locked from deletion.
For example, if a user creates a post by accident, they should still be able to delete the post within 5 minutes of creating it. After that the post will be locked from deletion.
This would prevent users from being frustrated with not being able to delete a post just because it was created by accident.

This is also essential for academic integrity and preventing abuse by students.

Note that students can already mark their posts visible to "TAs and instructors only" if they create one by accident.
