"Faculty and staff only" blocked all DMs

I set my DM settings to "Faculty and staff only" to prevent students contacting me privately for help, but I heard from the instructor and other TAs that this made them unable to DM me. One said they were able to send a message to me for a brief instance after refreshing the page, but then the DM chat was locked.

Hi Caleb Sander, "Faculty and staff only" refers to the role that the account signed up for when they initially created an account with Campuswire. This is not the same as the role that they are in your class (i.e. an account could've signed up as a student but then be enrolled in your class as a TA/instructor and would still not be able to DM you under that setting).
This obviously is not an ideal behavior. Ideally, we want to be able to check whether a user is a TA/instructor in any of your class and allow them to DM you. We have this on the roadmap already but we just have been very busy building other features. Will make sure to bump this up on the roadmap!
