Unsubscribing from mailing list is broken

I receive almost daily emails from CampusWire, despite having changed my notification preferences to disable any emails, at all, whatsoever. The unsubscribe button in the emails just takes me to the notification preferences page, which doesn't work- I still receive CampusWire spam.

Just kidding, Max Mizrahi is right. Even after disabling both the class notifications and the digest notifications, I still got an email today. This is broken.

Hi Peter, the email you forwarded to me is about a note that your instructor posted. Instructors have the ability to override students’ email preferences if they want to send an email to everyone in the class. So this wasn’t a bug but it’s an intended feature that was requested by professors. Hope that helps!

Like Max, I thought I had disabled all of my notification preferences by turning all of the switches in the Notifications tab off. However, I still received Digest emails. I was only able to disable these after finding the notification menu for Digest emails in Notifications > Digest Emails in the dropdown on the left.

Hiding the options for Digest emails in this dropdown seems like poor UI. It is also annoying that there is not an "unsubscribe" link in all emails.

Hi Peter Huson, thank you for your feedback. We are in the process of revamping the UI to make it easier to disable all notifications. We will be fixing the "unsubscribe" URL in all emails so that it works.

Hi Max Mizrahi, sorry for the hassle. Our unsubscribe link takes you to the preference page where you can customize which email notifications you want to receive. You can turn all of them off and you will not receive any emails from us.

We can also turn them off manually for you. What's your email address and what types of email notifications do you want to turn off?
